Let me tell you a story... about Facebook

Postby Travis » Sun Jun 17, 2012 12:49 pm

As some of you old timers will remember, back when we were a fledgeling company we tried to use some of those social networking tools to help get the word out. And to an extent, it worked. Even back in the early alpha days (you know, before there were even sims) we had hundreds of Facebook likes. Facebook was a pretty useful tool for the little guy starting out ... unless they screwed you over, that is.

We originally had something like 400 likes, but then we had a change of staff and somebody left the company. Unfortunately this guy had the keys to our Facebook account and we couldn't get them back. We approached Facebook about getting access back to our account and their response was just to delete it. Back to square one. We got to start over with 0 likes on our front page, and boy does that look impressive!

I spent some time developing integration software for the game so that we could streamline our registration process for people who use Facebook. That required setting up a Facebook "App" and creating a page on Facebook. So I figured I'd link our like buttons to the our App page, that way when people saw our "likes" on Facebook it would direct them to our App profile page and make a nice feedback loop. That was going pretty well and we were regaining some of our dignity with a couple hundred likes ... then Facebook discontinued App profile pages and we lost all of our likes again. Boo!

So now we've got a new like button and we're here to ask you to like us again. Is it really that important? Maybe, maybe not. It does help us get the word out, and has been useful to us in the past. So if you really like the game (and we think that if you made it this far you just might) please take a moment and click the like button up top.

Oh and by the way, I just added a new feature to the game that many of you will start seeing, randomly, over the next several days. I'd tell you more, but it's a secret. Don't worry, you'll like it. Thanks!

Well this sucks. Nothing like starting all over again. I have been there and done that. Takes a very long time to even get back to where you once were.

Anybody got the old facebook 2 out rally page?

Since we are OT.

Travis wrote:A bug which caused a handful of players to receive premature endorsements has been fixed, and the players who were affected have been identified and issued free respecs. If you had any players who were affected by the issue, you should be receiving a private message shortly.

You should be able to identify these players by checking for to see if a) they have a free respec, and b) they have a negative skill point total in their skill point pool. Those notified about this issue will have 48 hours to respec and fix their players before they will receive heavy skill point penalties during game simulations.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but fortunately this has only affected a few scouts. As always, thanks for your continued support!

Im sure none of my players have been affected by that bug, but i have noticed in particular one of them dropping down his productivity quite alot and really have to enphasis alot here. It might be a normal thing but i just wanted to ask if you guys are sure this has been fixed in a way that the "Heavy Skill point penalties During games simulations" are NOT affecting those who didnt had any "Free" endorsements ?
