Promotion for Season 13 (The WBL!) and Other News

Postby Walter » Thu Mar 01, 2012 2:16 am

It's that time again, with a definite few new twists. Namely, a new tier of competition in the form of the World Baseball League, the best of the best. Got a team at A willing to give it a shot? You can. Post about it here, along with a link to your team.

Some things to know: First, Season 13 will be the last under the current contract system. We're overhauling it to make it more fair, more fun, and way less wonky. As such, any long term contracts will be forced to expire at the end of next season, so don't invest too much time thinking about them. A few more notes:

We reserve the right this season to reject a promotion to the WBL. The A tier will be reworked somewhat (it will still be uncapped), but salaries will go down and the cap will be reinstated. So while your level 70 player CAN play there, it will be strongly discouraged. Players who are predominately 50 or below will probably find the A experience much more enjoyable.

The season is scheduled to change over March 10, although the offseason may go a bit long with the changes.

Bear in mind that you must have renewed your team for next season, and have the upgrades required for that level. So, if you'd like to move from D to C, you'll need to have bronze upgrades (level 1) for Financial, Fitness, Charity, and Celebrity. For C to B you'll need silver, for B to A, gold. Please post a link to your team pages!

If we end up delaying the start of the season at all, we'll be sure and let you know. Looking forward to the WBL? I know we are.

I would like to request my teams to be promoted:

Seattle Cougars to from Tier B to Tier A

Seattle White Tigers to from Tier D to Tier C

Also would like a new team in Tier D for next season

Thanks in Advance

Also what is the requirements to make WBL. I would think maybe having Platinum Finance, Lifestyle, Charity, Celebrity?

Just in case this wasn't clear, if you were planning on staying in Tier A and running a team full of level 70 (or frankly, level 40+ guys) it will be very difficult, if not impossible for you to fill your 25 man roster before hitting the new Tier A salary cap. If you've got a bunch of high level guys you want to stay with your team, your best bet apply to move up to the WBL.

Lastly, tier A will be the highest level that you'll be able to sign on to CPU teams at, and your higher level guys will still be able to play on CPU teams if you can't get signed to the WBL, but their salaries are going to be a bit lower now. A lot of this may change for season 14 with the new contract system, but for season 13, these are the rules.

How do you own two teams in the same league?

Yeah, JMan, you're going to have to pick one or the other one. Only one team allowed in the WBL (and hopefully this will fix that issue from happening again).
