I believe I can interject here. Go to your league page and click the "Full Schedule" link below the "Tonight's Games" heading. It says day 1 will be played on "Tue, Jan 31st ".

It's decidedly minor, but why was a "foe" list created? I kind of understand the desire for rivalries, but "foe" seems a bit exaggerated. I'm getting messages from people saying they've added me as a "foe" and feel like I've done some grave insult to make enemies or something. The last thing the Internet needs is another outlet to be negative.

Friends and foes isn't a new implementation for this season as I was using it before season 12, though I think the "Send PM" checkbox is new.

I appreciate the opportunity to notify other scouts you consider them your friend, but agree I would not want to use it for a foe. If I don't want to speak to someone or see what they have to say, then I would prefer to leave the communication channel closed. A PM to let them know is like a smack in the face. As much as it could be deserved, it still seems out of line unless someone really crosses the line beyond annoying, though I'm sure moderators would take action if that occurred.

I just took the built in forum friend/foe function and made it part of the game. What if the word "Foe" were interchanged with "Rival"? Would you be terribly offended to be notified that you have a new rival?

I'd personally like to see a "People I'd Like to Stab with an Icepick" list, but I guess "Rival" would suffice.

....j/k about the whole Icepick thing.

You should always be looking at your future competition and adjust your rotation accordingly. The same goes for batting lineups, and we hope that the ESR Settings panel will help you determine which kinds of lineups to build. You might find that lower level bench warmer to be more valuable if he's going to get a 15 or 20 percent boost against a certain pitcher.

how can I use this when I cant see the ESR of the players in my team?

From the player page? Chalk it up to hyperactive security checks, you can now.

Walter and I are seriously (at this very moment) talking in-depth about how the new pitcher relief system will work, please believe it's a top priority. The fact that we sim 5 games at a time makes this solution especially challenging.

i would love to see an option to influence bullpen management based on pitch counts, for example starters should go for 100 pt, relievers max. 50 pt and closer/setup max 25 pt

My Suggestion is to start by Making a Starting Pitcher Tactics and Separate them from the Relief Pitcher Tactics beeing that i dont own any team or manage i dont know if thats already in place or not.

Then my aproach to relief pitcher tactics would be like this:

1 - Which RP enters the game when a starter is pulled.
2 - When an RP should be pulled.
3 - Which RP should then enter the game.

Now we need to create a series of situations where the relief pitcher would be called to enter the game:

SITUATION---------------------------------------- RELIEF PITCHER CALLED
Ahead by 4+ runs in the 1st to 5th inning-------------Long Reliever

SITUATION----------------------------------------RELIEF PITCHER CALLED
Ahead By 2 Runs In The 6th Inning---------------------Midlle Reliever

SITUATION----------------------------------------RELIEF PITCHER CALLED
Tied Game In The 8th Inning----------------------------Setup Man

SITUATION----------------------------------------RELIEF PITCHER CALLED
Aheah By 1 Run In The 9th Inning-----------------------Closer

SITUATION----------------------------------------RELIEF PITCHER CALLED
Behind By 1 Run In The 9th Inning----------------------Closer

SITUATION----------------------------------------RELIEF PITCHER CALLED
Behind by 5 Runs In The 5th Inning---------------------MopUp

SITUATION----------------------------------------RELIEF PITCHER CALLED
Ahead By 2 In The 12th Inning---------------------------Midlle Reliever II

Theres alot more situations but this shows some examples, i also thought about "oh and when the Relief Pitcher you have selected to Pitch in case you go to extra innings have already pitched in another Situation what then?"

Then instead of only having one slot on Relief Pitcher Called we can have Two or even tree to prevent this from happening.

For Example:

SITUATION-----------------------------------------RELIEF PITCHER CALLED
Behind By 4 Runs In The 10th Inning---------------------MR/MRII/MOP

So in this case lets say the Middle reliever had already entered the game and was not available the next pitcher to enter by the manager previous choice would be the Middle reliever nr 2 if he also has played in the game the next and final choice would have to be MOP based on the tactics set by the owner/manager. When theres no more Pitchers to burn the last pitcher selected on the Reliever Tactics page stays in the game.

EDIT II - We could also add something for the 7th, 8th and 9th inning, the crucial innings in a Ball game, we could add Special Tactics (or another name) where Basic Relief Pitcher Tactics would be override by the Special Relief Tactics that the manager/owner would set previously, this would allow to choose a pitcher for an out by out situation in the final 3 Innings of any given game. But that would have to be more developed i just thougt of that from the top of my head.

I think something like this could work, what do you think?

EDIT - Going to Post This In The Suggestion Forum.
